LabC is an independent organisation formed at the meeting point of Art and Bioscience. We are a platform for mutual discovery that is primarily involved with the research and production of Art. In this process we develop innovative ways of disseminating ideas to a wider public. We provide support for artists and scientists to gain knowledge and access to one each others resources and audiences. With a wide network of artists, scientists and cultural leaders we provide ethical guidance for artwork or creative public engagement that falls outside of the remit of institutional clinical research ethics remits.
Through collaboration and parallel investigation we gain different perspectives, open up to new ideas, influences and understandings. The potent combination of art and science can help us to address issues and ethical dilemmas affecting all of our lives, now and in the future.
North West England is a leader in culture-led regeneration and is home to the largest national grouping of arts, health and bioscience related disciplines and people in the UK. LabC are based in Liverpool and Lancaster with a network of national partners.
